ActuallySheCanSM, the female empowerment campaign by Allergan, has unveiled a striking series of portraits shot by celebrated photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin to announce the launch of #ActuallySheCan Mentorship.

As Allergan explained in their announcement, ActuallySheCan is a campaign that aims to start a movement and important dialogue around modern female empowerment, celebrating young women and their ambitions. Through the use of the dedicated hashtag #ActuallySheCan, the campaign has created a platform upon which women can express their own goals, as well as perpetuate a larger conversation around female achievement and well-being.

Award-winning Inez and Vinoodh have created portraits of actress Chloë Grace Moretz, Olympic gold-medal gymnast Gabby Douglas, actress Gabourey Sidibe, supermodel and entrepreneur Iman, and television host and CEO Amanda de Cadenet, alongside their mentors or mentees – women who have meaningfully impacted their lives or whom they have supported in turn. The portraits include Amanda with her daughter Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor; Chloë Grace with her mother and manager Teri Moretz; Gabourey Sidibe with producer Lisa Cortes; Iman and fashion icon Bethann Hardison; and Gabby Douglas with her sister Arielle Hawkins. The resulting images – evocative, intimate and beautiful – poetically capture the power of female mentorship.

To bring their mentorship advice to the campaign’s audience, ActuallySheCan has released a series of video interviews of these accomplished women in discussion with TV host Amanda de Cadenet.  These intimate and candid conversations about personal challenges and perseverance will offer advice to inspire young women as they embark on their careers and find their unique paths to achieve their personal goals.

“I attribute so much of my growth, both personally and professionally, to strong guidance from my mentors. I couldn’t be more pleased to honor that special relationship by joining forces with #ActuallySheCan Mentorship, helping young women realize the value of the counsel mentors can provide,” said Gabby Douglas, who is pictured with her mentor in the campaign’s photo shoot.
